Champagne Barons de Rothschild
For more than 150 years, great wines have been part of the Rothschilds’ métier. For a long time, champagne was not one of them – until all the lines of the family involved in Bordeaux got together for the first time in 2005 and launched their own champagne line. This was made possible by excellent contacts to friendly winegrowing families in the Champagne region, who have the best vineyards with Grand Cru and Premier Cru status. A large part is located in the Côte des Blancs, the best Chardonnay terroir in Champagne. Strict quality standards also apply in other respects: at least 40% Réserve wine, at least three years of ageing on the lees, only a light dosage, because there is nothing to hide under sweetness.
