Champagne Gaston Quiquet

Nicolas CHIQUET planted his first vines in 1746. Since then, eight generations have carried on the family tradition. Gaston CHIQUET launched his own brand of champagne in 1935. During the 1950’s, Gaston and his son, Claude CHIQUET, increased the family estate with the acquisition of vineyards in the locality of Aÿ, noted for its Grand Cru champagnes produced from the Pinot Noir grape. Other vineyards were acquired in Hautvillers, the birthplace of champagne. These acquisitions broadened the scope of the blending operation, a key factor in production. Today, on an estate of 22 hectares (55 acres), Nicolas Chiquet maintain the high standards set by their ancestors, dedicated to sustainable viticulture: the techniques evolve, the tradition endures.
