About Meininger Verlag
At the heart of our publishing house is a broad portfolio of trade journals and specialist information – print, live and digital. These are flanked by trade fairs, congresses, market studies, seminars and specialist study trips. “Mundus Vini”, the Grand International Wine Award – launched in 2001 – is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.
In addition, the wine journalistic expertise of the publishing house forms the basis for internationally recognised competitions such as the Grand International Wine Award MUNDUS VINI or the International Spirits Competition ISW.
Highest journalistic quality standards
The publishing house attaches great importance to the editorial quality of its trade journals. It is not journalistic self-assessment that defines this quality, but the reader. It is the reader who determines the value of the trade journal through the benefits gained from it for his or her entrepreneurial decisions. Behind the publisher’s trade publications are therefore journalists who identify to a high degree with the wishes of their readers.
This does not exclude that even controversial facts in an industry are analysed and interpreted. And even facts that appear uncomfortable are perceived without slipping into cheap investigative journalism. Reflecting on what is, illuminating the opportunities and risks of the market in equal measure, encouraging and warning, in short formulating and offering professional and existential help in journalistically clear language, is the maxim of the service demanded by the publisher for its readers.
